SOUND THE ALARM: Mayor Paige Cognetti (PA-08) Slams Bresnahan’s Shady Stock Trading on MSNBC
In case you missed it, Rep. Rob Bresnahan campaigned on a promise to ban congressional stock trading and then became one of the top stock traders in Congress. Since his very first day in Congress, Bresnahan has executed more than 600 trades, worth millions.
Voters are ready to replace him with Mayor Paige Cognetti, who joined “The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle” on MSNBC to call out his broken promises. Mayor Cognetti has a record of cleaning up the mess left behind by corrupt politicians, like Bresnahan, and fighting for the people of Pennsylvania. We are confident she is ready to flip this critical seat and help take back the House in 2026.

- “He campaigned that you should not buy and sell stocks while voting on legislation that will have a direct impact on these companies. He got to Congress and has become one of the most prolific stock traders in all of Congress,” said Mayor Paige Cognetti, candidate for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District. “He sold Medicaid provider stocks right before voting to slash Medicaid and cut health care for 25,000 of our neighbors in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It’s the exact kind of corruption that people are sick and tired of.”
- “People in Northeastern Pennsylvania have been let down by politicians for generations. Rob Bresnahan [says] that he’s against this, and writes that it’s sickening to have lawmakers making money off of their votes, and then he turns around and starts making money off of his votes. On the very votes that are cutting health care from our neighbors. It doesn’t get uglier than that.”
- “I have a record in Scranton of making government work for people. We have support from Independents, Republicans, and Democrats, because we rebuilt trust in government. We built a government that works for people in Scranton after so many years of politicians abusing the system and abusing public office.”
