SOUND THE ALARM: Ex-Republican Geoff Duncan Can’t Cover Up His Long Anti-Abortion Record
Ex-Republican Geoff Duncan just announced his run for Georgia governor — and already he’s trying to hide from his deep anti-abortion record, knowing it will be a dealbreaker for Democratic primary voters.
Duncan’s well-documented, anti-choice record is at stark odds with the majority of registered voters in Georgia who support abortion access.
- While running for lieutenant governor in 2018, Duncan declared himself a champion of rights for the “unborn,” vowed to cut funding for Planned Parenthood, which he called a “malicious organization” on a now-archived copy of his campaign website, and bragged on Twitter about his “100% pro-life” rating by the Georgia Life Alliance.

- He played a key role in passing Georgia’s six-week abortion ban, one of the harshest in the nation, actively killing Democrat-proposed amendments that would have removed so-called fetal personhood and tax benefits for fetuses from the bill, before empowering Republicans to approve it.
Amanda Sherman Baity, chief communications officer at EMILYs List said:
“Geoff Duncan is a political opportunist, whose anti-abortion positions and lengthy record of taking away Georgians’ reproductive rights is well documented. The fact is he worked overtime to pass one of the strictest abortion bans in this country — which has already cost lives — and Georgians know they can’t trust him to protect abortion rights.”
