EMILYs List Endorses Seven More Women Leaders for the Nevada State Legislature

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed seven more women leaders for the Nevada state Legislature. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is proud to endorse these seven women leaders for the Nevada state Legislature. Since Democrats flipped the Nevada House and Senate in 2016, pro-choice Democratic women have been at the forefront of moving Nevada forward. With progressive values under attack by Nevada Republicans, it is crucial to elect candidates who will continue to fight for women and working families. These women are proven advocates for their communities and we look forward to helping them win this November.”

EMILYs List endorsed the following slate of candidates:

Assemblywoman Sandra Jauregui (AD-41)
Susan Martinez (AD-12)
Assemblywoman Brittney Miller (AD-05)
Lesia Romanov (AD-36)
Jennie Sherwood (AD-02)
Selena Torres (AD-03)
Kristee Watson (AD-22)

These endorsements are in addition to nine previously endorsed EMILYs List candidates in Nevada – Kate Marshall (Lieutenant Governor), Shea Backus (AD-37), Senator Yvanna Cancela (SD-10), Assemblywoman Lesley Cohen (AD-29), Marilyn Dondero Loop (SD-08), Michelle Gorelow (AD-35), Connie Munk (AD-04), Julie Pazina (SD-20), and Melanie Scheible (SD-09) who advanced through their primaries on June 12, 2018.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $500 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates – making them one of the most successful political organizations ever. Our grassroots community of over five million members helps Democratic women wage competitive campaigns – and win. We recruit and train candidates, support strong campaigns, research the issues that impact women and families, and turn out women voters. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 116 women to the House, 23 to the Senate, 12 governors, and over 800 to state and local office. Forty percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Since the 2016 election, thousands of women and counting have reached out to us about running for office. To harness this energy, EMILYs List has launched Run to Win, an unprecedented effort to get more women to run at the local, state, and national levels.
