June 5, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Heather Goulding for election to Nevada’s 27th Assembly District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is thrilled to endorse Heather Goulding for Nevada’s 27th Assembly District. Goulding is a dedicated community leader who is passionate about bettering the lives of Northern Nevadans and advocating for their needs. Her deep roots in Northern Nevada have led her to a lifetime of service investing in the lives of youth, making health care more accessible, and promoting sustainable transportation in her community. During a time when anti-choice extremists in Nevada are working overtime to roll back our reproductive rights, Goulding is the only candidate we trust to stand up for all Nevadans. We are confident that she will always fight for women, families, and reproductive freedom in the Nevada Assembly. EMILYs List is proud to support her candidacy, and we look forward to seeing all that she will continue to accomplish for Nevadans.”

Heather Goulding is a project manager and nonprofit leader who has dedicated over 20 years of her life serving the people of Northern Nevada. Goulding has worked to provide funding for breast cancer services to uninsured women, established a high school dropout recovery program run by the Nevada National Guard, and ensured that bicycle transportation is available and accessible for every resident of Reno. Goulding is a recipient of the Nevada State Commendation Medal and was named a finalist for Reno Gazette Journal’s Citizen of the Year award for her leadership in passing Senate Bill 295 (2019), which established the Battle Born Youth ChalleNGe Academy.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, works to elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot and across the country with a goal of fighting for our rights and our communities. Our work is centered around a fundamental vision: Run. Win. Change the World. EMILYs List has raised $850 million in service to that vision and has helped Democratic women win competitive elections by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running one of the largest independent expenditure operations for Democrats, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect the country’s first woman as vice president, 175 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 20 governors, and over 1,500 women to state and local office. More than 40% of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Visit www.emilyslist.org for more information.
