EMILYs List Congratulates Pia Dandiya on Her Victory in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following Pia Dandiya’s decisive win in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“EMILYs List proudly congratulates Pia Dandiya on her victory in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District. A working mom and educator, Pia ran a strong campaign focused on the challenges facing Florida families and the need to make life more affordable. While Republicans tried to gerrymander this seat in their favor, Pia’s commitment to lowering costs, expanding opportunity, and ensuring government works for working families helped secure this critical seat in the fight to take back the House majority. We’re proud to have supported Pia and helped make this race competitive.”

EMILYs List’s Mission Majority initiative put Democratic women at the center of an aggressive strategy to flip the U.S. House and reclaim the majority. EMILYs List led the effort to expand the battleground map, backing 26 Majority Makers in key competitive districts and tougher Republican-held terrain where strong women candidates could deliver the seats Democrats needed to win the House. We built that strategy by providing strategic guidance, critical resources, and targeted fundraising and communications support to help candidates compete and win.
