EMILYs List Congratulates Jessica Killin on Her Critical Victory Flipping Colorado’s 5th Congressional District

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following Jessica Killin’s critical win flipping Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“EMILYs List congratulates Jessica Killin on making history by becoming the first Democrat elected to represent Colorado’s 5th Congressional District. As a mom and Army veteran, Jessica knows what it means to serve, and she’ll bring that commitment to Congress to deliver for Colorado families and the more than 100,000 veterans who live in the district. EMILYs List is proud to have helped elect Jessica and prove that no seat should be off the table when we put the right woman at the center of the fight.”

In CO-05, EMILYs List worked directly with the campaign to make this race competitive, helping Jessica launch, and providing strategic guidance, fundraising support, and communications expertise throughout the race. Over the summer, EMILYs List Action launched a six-figure accountability campaign exposing how Jeff Crank’s agenda was driving up costs for families. In the fall, Women Vote, EMILYs List’s independent expenditure arm, invested an additional six figures in paid communications to reach voters, draw a clear contrast, and help Jessica flip the seat.

EMILYs List’s Mission Majority initiative put Democratic women at the center of an aggressive strategy to flip the U.S. House and reclaim the majority. EMILYs List led the effort to expand the battleground map, backing 26 Majority Makers in key competitive districts and tougher Republican-held terrain where strong women candidates could deliver the seats Democrats needed to win the House.
