EMILYs List Congratulates Elissa Slotkin on Her Victory in Michigan’s 8th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated EMILYs List candidate Elissa Slotkin on being elected to represent Michigan’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“Elissa Slotkin is a national security leader and a third-generation Michigander, but above all, she is a fierce public servant. With her victory tonight, 8th District families will have a champion in Congress who will work hard to expand economic opportunity and access to affordable health care. EMILYs List is proud to stand with Elissa and congratulate her on flipping this seat from red to blue.”

Women Vote, EMILY's List's independent expenditure arm, invested more than $530,000 in an independent expenditure effort on TV and radio. Women Vote also contributed to MoveOn.org’s Real Voter Voices digital campaign supporting Elissa Slotkin.
