Women Vote Announces $835,000 Television Program in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District Race
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Women Vote, the independent expenditure arm of EMILYs List, unveiled an $835,000 television program in the toss up race between Jill Schupp and Congresswoman Ann Wagner. The first ad, which begins airing today, calls out Congresswoman Wagner for getting rich in public office.
“Ann Wagner didn’t hesitate when she voted to increase her own salary in Congress, and she didn’t hesitate when she voted to kick 23 million Americans off their health insurance,” said Melissa Williams, vice president of independent expenditures at EMILYs List. “It’s clear from the $4.4 million increase in her net worth since she got to D.C. that Ann Wagner didn't get into politics for the people. In stark contrast, Jill Schupp is a proven public servant and former teacher who originally ran for her local school board after learning students and teachers couldn’t focus in classrooms without air conditioning. Jill cares about her community, and when Missourians send her to Congress in November, they’ll be sending a leader who knows how to deliver for her district.”
