EMILYs List to Host National Gala With Democratic Women Leading the Fight to Take Back Power

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, May 6, EMILYs List will host its annual We Are EMILY National Gala in Washington, D.C., featuring the Democratic women at the center of the fight to take back power this November. From flipping the U.S. House and Senate majorities to secure governing power in the states, the most critical fights ahead of us this cycle all run through EMILYs List women.

The event will feature EMILYs List-endorsed candidates and elected leaders, including remarks from Illinois lt. gov. and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Juliana Stratton, Michigan secretary of state and governor candidate Jocelyn Benson, U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids (KS-03), EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler, EMILYs List Board Chair Rebecca Haile, and more. 

At the gala, Virginia state Del. Kimberly Pope Adams will accept the We Are EMILY Award on behalf of all 10 EMILYs List candidates who flipped Republican-held seats to expand the Virginia House of Delegates majority in November 2025, delivering Gov. Abigail Spanberger a governing trifecta anchored by Democratic women on day one. EMILYs List also will present Georgia state Rep. and candidate for attorney general Tanya Miller with the 2026 Gabrielle Giffords Rising Star Award.
