EMILYs List Endorses Minority Leader Crystal Quade for Governor of Missouri

September 4, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed State Representative and Missouri House Minority Leader Crystal Quade for governor of Missouri. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“Leader Crystal Quade understands the needs of Missourians and EMILYs List is proud to endorse her in the race for governor. Quade has a proven track record in the Missouri General Assembly of fighting for reproductive rights, working families, and standing up against large corporations, and she’s ready to defeat anti-abortion extremist Mike Kehoe. We look forward to electing this fearless leader as the first woman governor in Missouri’s history.

Leader Quade was raised in rural Missouri and became the first in her family to graduate from high school. She attended Missouri State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. Quade was elected to represent Missouri’s 132nd State House District in Nov. 2016. She is passionate about fighting for families, restoring reproductive freedoms, and standing up against corporate special interests. Her peers saw her tenacious leadership and have made her the longest serving leader for any party since term limits were enacted. She is running for governor to fight against anti-abortion extremists who will ban abortion, birth control, and IVF.

EMILYs List previously endorsed Quade in 2018 and 2020 for her reelection to the Missouri General Assembly. If elected, Quade would be the first woman to serve as governor in Missouri.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, works to elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot and across the country with a goal of fighting for our rights and our communities. Our work is centered around a fundamental vision: Run. Win. Change the World. EMILYs List has raised $850 million in service to that vision and has helped Democratic women win competitive elections by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running one of the largest independent expenditure operations for Democrats, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect the country’s first woman as vice president, 175 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 20 governors, and over 1,500 women to state and local office. More than 40% of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Visit www.emilyslist.org for more information.
