FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Keir Bradford-Grey for Pennsylvania attorney general. EMILYs List Vice President of State and Local Campaigns Sarah Curmi released the following statement:
“Keir Bradford-Grey has spent over two decades of her life fighting for the vulnerable, taking on big corporations, delivering results, and protecting our rights. As Pennsylvania Republicans continue to work overtime to take away reproductive freedoms, we need Democratic pro-choice champions like Bradford-Grey standing in the gap, ensuring that Pennsylvanians will always have the ability to determine the course of their lives, their families, and their futures. EMILYs List is proud to endorse Bradford-Grey, and we know she will truly be an attorney general for the people.”
Keir Bradford-Grey is a lawyer, first-generation college graduate, and the former chief public defender of Philadelphia, an office that had never before been led by an African American public defender. Bradford-Grey was raised in a union household and became passionate about making the justice system more effective and equitable at a young age. She has worked as a state and federal public defender for over two decades. As chief defender, she was instrumental in the creation of multiple community justice hubs in Philadelphia and worked with law enforcement, community leaders, and elected officials to deliver results and make communities safer. Bradford-Grey is running for attorney general to take on special interests and fight for a better future for Pennsylvanians.
EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, works to elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot and across the country with a goal of fighting for our rights and our communities. Our work is centered around a fundamental vision: Run. Win. Change the World. EMILYs List has raised $850 million in service to that vision and has helped Democratic women win competitive elections by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running one of the largest independent expenditure operations for Democrats, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect the country’s first woman as vice president, 175 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 20 governors, and over 1,500 women to state and local office. More than 40% of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Visit www.emilyslist.org for more information.
