EMILYs List Endorses Jena Griswold for Colorado Attorney General
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Jena Griswold for attorney general of Colorado. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:
“Jena Griswold is running for attorney general to protect Coloradans from the Trump Administration’s chaotic and cruel attacks. As secretary of state, she has emerged as a fierce defender of our democracy and one of the strongest voices pushing back against Donald Trump and MAGA extremists. EMILYs List is proud to endorse her in the race to become Colorado’s first Democratic woman attorney general, and we look forward to standing with her in this election fight.”
Jena Griswold currently serves as Colorado’s 39th secretary of state. She was elected in 2018 and was the youngest elected Secretary of State in the country. She was reelected in 2022 and during her time in office, she has protected the rights of Coloradans by improving elections and fighting against Donald Trump and MAGA extremists. Jena grew up in a Colorado working class family who struggled to get by and relied on food stamps. She was the first person in her family to attend a four year college and earn a law degree. After law school, Jena moved to Washington, D.C. to practice international anti-corruption law. Later, she served as the director of the governor of Colorado’s D.C. office, where she helped secure hundreds of millions of relief dollars to help Colorado communities hit by the 2013 flood. As a mom, Jena knows what’s at stake, and she is now running for attorney general to stand up to Donald Trump, and protect the rights and freedoms of all Coloradans.
