EMILYs List Endorses Holly Seibold for Virginia’s 35th House District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Holly Seibold in the special election for Virginia’s 35th House District on Jan. 10. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is proud to endorse pro-choice champion Holly Seibold for election to the Virginia House of Delegates at a time when reproductive rights are under attack in the Commonwealth. Since Gov. Youngkin has indicated he will sign an abortion ban into law, it is more critical than ever to elect Democratic pro-choice women who will protect our rights, starting with Holly Seibold. We’re thrilled to stand with this tireless advocate for Virginia’s women and families and know that she will build a brighter future for every person who calls the Commonwealth home.”

Holly Seibold is a former educator, nonprofit founder, and small business owner running in the special election for the Commonwealth’s 35th House District. Seibold is a creative problem-solver who has achieved solutions for women and girls facing crisis situations in her community. As a former educator and member of the Virginia Council on Women, Seibold is dedicated to stopping attacks on the school system, protecting Virginia’s children from gun violence, supporting small business, and defending abortion access. She lives in Vienna, Virginia with her husband and two children.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, works to elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot and across the country with a goal of fighting for our rights and our communities. Our work is centered around a fundamental vision: Run. Win. Change the World. EMILYs List has raised over $700 million in service to that vision and has helped Democratic women win competitive elections by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running one of the largest independent expenditure campaigns for Democrats, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect the country's first woman as vice president, 159 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and nearly 1,400 women to state and local office. More than 40% of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Visit www.emilyslist.org for more information.
