EMILYs List Endorses Hannah Pingree for Maine Governor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is endorsing Hannah Pingree for Maine governor. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement: 

“Hannah Pingree has spent nearly 25 years fighting for Maine families and delivering results. From lowering healthcare costs to protecting kids from toxic chemicals, her priority has always been to keep Mainers safe. As Trump and Republicans in Washington drive up costs and threaten fundamental freedoms, the stakes of this election could not be higher. Maine needs a proven leader who will fight back and protect the progress the state has made. Hannah Pingree is that leader and EMILYs List is proud to endorse her for governor.”

Hannah Pingree is a lifelong Mainer, community leader, and mom who has spent her career delivering results for Maine families. Born in Belfast and raised on the island of North Haven, Hannah was elected to the Maine House at age 26 and became the youngest woman in the nation and only the second woman in Maine history to serve as Speaker of the House. During her eight years in the legislature and as Director of the Governor’s Office of Policy, Innovation and the Future she built a reputation for bringing people together to get things done, including lowering healthcare costs, investing in clean energy, and protecting reproductive rights. Now, she’s ready to take on and defeat MAGA Republican politician Bobby Charles to ensure Mainers have the governor they deserve.
