EMILYs List Endorses Cait Conley for Election in New York’s 17th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Cait Conley for election in New York’s 17th Congressional District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“From leading troops in combat to protecting our national security, Cait Conley has built a career on service, courage, and putting others before herself. That’s exactly the kind of leadership Hudson Valley families need right now as Mike Lawler continues to rubber-stamp Donald Trump’s reckless agenda that is driving up costs and putting healthcare out of reach for millions of working families. Cait knows what’s at stake, she’s never backed down from a fight, and EMILYs List is proud to endorse her as we work to flip this seat and take back the House majority.”

The daughter of a postal worker and a construction worker, Cait Conley has spent her life answering the call to serve. After watching the attacks of September 11th unfold, Cait applied to attend West Point the very next day and went on to serve 16 years in the U.S. Army, deploying six times to Iraq and Afghanistan and earning three Bronze Stars. She became one of the first women to serve in Special Operations leadership before continuing her service at the highest levels of government, helping protect Americans from terrorism, cyber threats, and attacks on our democracy. Now, Cait is running to flip this seat and replace MAGA loyalist Mike Lawler, who has spent his time in Congress voting against working families.
