EMILYs List Endorses 14 Candidates for Election in Nevada

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed 14 women for election in Nevada. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement:
“We are thrilled to endorse 14 more women for election in Nevada because we know they will fight for what the vast majority of Nevadans want: reproductive freedom. In 2019, Democratic pro-choice women led the charge to pass the Trust Nevada Women Act in order to defend abortion access in the state, but we know that amid nationwide attacks on abortion access, Nevadans’ fundamental freedoms are now at risk. It is more important than ever to elect and reelect the pro-choice champions on the frontlines of the fight to secure our reproductive rights.”
EMILY's List endorsed the following slate of challengers and incumbents:

  • Lisa Cano Burkhead (NV-Lieutenant Governor)
  • Ellen Spiegel (NV-Controller)
  • Julie Pazina (NV-SD12)
  • Selena Torres (NV-AD03)
  • Shondra Armstrong-Summers (NV-AD06)
  • Rochelle Nguyen (NV-AD10)
  • Bea Duran (NV-AD11)
  • Cecelia González (NV-AD16)
  • Clara “Claire” Thomas (NV-AD17)
  • Venicia Considine (NV-AD18)
  • Dr. Angela “Angie” Taylor (NV-AD27)
  • Natha Anderson (NV-AD30)
  • Shannon Bilbray-Axelrod (NV-AD34)
  • Tracy Brown-May (NV-AD42)

These endorsements are in addition to the 10 previously endorsed EMILYs List candidates headed to the general election in Nevada: Marilyn Dondero Loop (NV-SD08), Melanie Scheible (NV-SD09), Daniele Monroe-Moreno (NV-AD01), Brittney Miller (NV-AD05), Elaine Marzola (NV-AD21), Selena La Rue Hatch (NV-AD25), Lesley Cohen (NV-AD29), Michelle Gorelow (NV-AD35), Shea Backus (NV-AD37),  and Sandra Jauregui (NV-AD41).

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $700 million to elect Democratic pro-choice women candidates. With a grassroots community of over five million members, EMILY's List helps Democratic women win competitive campaigns – across the country and up and down the ballot – by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running nearly $50 million in independent expenditures in the last cycle alone, and turning out women voters and voters of color to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect the country's first woman as vice president, 159 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and more than 1,300 women to state and local office. More than 40% of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. After the 2016 election, more than 60,000 women reached out to EMILY's List about running for office laying the groundwork for the next decade of candidates for local, state, and national offices. In our effort to elect more women in offices across the country, we have created our Run to Win program, expanded our training program, including a Training Center online, and trained thousands of women.
