EMILYs List Congratulates Nancy Lacore on Her Victory Flipping South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following Nancy Lacore’s critical victory flipping South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“EMILYs List proudly congratulates retired Navy Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore on flipping South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. A trailblazing leader with 35 years of military service that began as a helicopter pilot and ended as a three-star admiral and Chief of Navy Reserve, Nancy proved that strong leadership can break through in tough districts. EMILYs List invested early and worked alongside Nancy to turn this race into a critical pickup in the fight for the U.S. House majority. In Congress, she’ll bring her mission-driven leadership to lowering costs, protecting affordable healthcare, and delivering for Lowcountry families.”

EMILYs List’s Mission Majority initiative put Democratic women at the center of an aggressive strategy to flip the U.S. House and reclaim the majority. EMILYs List led the effort to expand the battleground map, backing 26 Majority Makers in key competitive districts and tougher Republican-held terrain where strong women candidates could deliver the seats Democrats needed to win the House. We built that strategy by providing strategic guidance, critical resources, and targeted fundraising and communications support to help candidates compete and win.
