EMILYs List Congratulates Jane Castor on Advancing to a Runoff for Tampa Mayor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Jane Castor on advancing to a runoff in the race for mayor of Tampa, Florida. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

Building on her career as police chief, Jane will be a mayor who is committed to working closely with Tampa’s local leaders and working on community-based solutions to some of the biggest challenges that the city faces. Jane Castor has an impressive record spanning over 30 years in the Tampa Police Department. She was born and raised in Tampa, graduating from Chamberlain High School and the University of Tampa. As a strong neighborhood ally, she is deeply in touch with each of Tampa’s neighborhoods and has been a skilled and efficient problem solver in respectfully addressing the needs of its most vulnerable residents.
