EMILYs List Congratulates Gina Hinojosa on her Historic Victory in Texas Gubernatorial Race

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa’s history-making win in the Texas governor’s race, EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement celebrating her victory:

“EMILYs List proudly congratulates Gina Hinojosa on making history as the first Latina governor of Texas. This groundbreaking victory shatters barriers and ends more than 30 years of Republican control of the governor’s office. A proud product of Brownsville public schools, Gina built her career as a civil rights and union lawyer, taking on powerful interests and fighting for working Texans. Her campaign proved that no state is beyond reach when you build a strong coalition and give voters a clear vision for their future. We’re proud to have stood with Gina, and we can’t wait to see her make history and deliver for Texas families.”
