EMILYs List Announces Three New Mayoral Endorsements
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Raquel Carter for Lexington mayor, Daniele Monroe-Moreno for North Las Vegas mayor, and Kate Marshall for Reno mayor. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:
“EMILYs List is proud to endorse Kate Marshall, Daniele Monroe-Moreno, and Raquel Carter. All three women understand the challenges their cities face and are committed to making life more affordable, expanding opportunity, and keeping communities safe. Kate, Daniele, and Raquel are exactly the kind of bold leaders we need to elect to protect working families against Trump and his cruel policies.”
Kate Marshall grew up in a hardworking union household shaped by her family’s immigrant heritage. Kate has consistently delivered for Nevada’s working families as state treasurer and lieutenant governor. She made the lives of her community members better by cutting wasteful spending, helping small businesses, and protecting Nevada’s natural resources. As a senior advisor to the White House under the Biden administration, she built relationships across parties and solved complex problems by bringing people together, while also helping secure vital federal investments for Nevada. Now, she is ready to return home to bring that same fight to build a stronger Reno and make life more affordable.
Daniele Monroe-Moreno is a groundbreaking leader who currently represents North Las Vegas in the Nevada Assembly. In the Assembly, Daniele rose in leadership because she successfully built relationships across the aisle to deliver for North Las Vegas families. She is the first Black woman to serve as the speaker pro tempore, chair of the Ways and Means Committee, and chair of the Nevada Democratic Party. She led the state in grappling with a severe budget deficit without cutting education funding, laying off or furloughing state workers, or raising taxes, and also fought hard to decrease maternal mortality, provide affordable housing, and support working families. Now, she is ready to bring her experienced leadership to the North Las Vegas mayoral office to ensure families thrive.
Raquel Carter is the daughter of a single mother, who taught her the value of investing in her community. She is a small business owner, community leader, and a dedicated public servant. She served as chair of the Lexington Board of Adjustment, and she was appointed to the Kentucky Real Estate Commission by Gov. Andy Beshear, where she currently serves. Raquel believes Lexington residents deserve more, and she is running to provide better housing, secure jobs, and improve the quality of life for Lexington residents.
