EMILYs List Announces Texas Statewide Endorsements, Endorsing Jasmine Crockett and Gina Hinojosa

January 28, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is endorsing two bold leaders running statewide in Texas — Jasmine Crockett in the U.S. Senate race and Gina Hinojosa for governor.

“Jasmine Crockett is a fearless force in Congress, taking on the reckless Republican agenda and calling out the lawlessness of the Trump administration,” said EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler. “At a moment when our democracy and our communities are under attack, leaders like Jasmine will never stop fighting to win back power and advocating relentlessly for Texas families. EMILYs List is proud to endorse Jasmine in the U.S. Senate race.”

“Gina Hinojosa is a proven fighter for Texans. Throughout her career, she has taken on corruption, stood up to corporate greed, and delivered — securing funding for public schools, expanding access to health care, and lowering costs for working families. While Gov. Greg Abbott puts billionaire donors first, Gina always puts Texans first. EMILYs List is proud to stand with Gina as she fights for Texas families,” said EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett is a civil rights attorney, former Texas state representative, and one of the fiercest defenders of democracy in Congress. Raised in a civically engaged household, Crockett began her career as a public defender and community organizer. Frustrated with a system of unjust laws and a state government that wasn’t responding to the everyday needs of Texans, Jasmine ran for the Texas House of Representatives. Jasmine was outspent five to one, but went on to unseat the incumbent by 90 votes out of thousands — proving that every single vote counts and matters. As a member of the Texas House, she made national headlines as a leader of the 2021 Texas Quorum Break against Republican voter suppression. During her time in Congress Jasmine has been a battle-tested fighter who has stood up to Trump, Abbott, and Attorney General Paxton while delivering millions in resources and real results for Texas’ 30th Congressional District. Jasmine is running for the U.S. Senate to take on extremists, protect Texans’ rights, and get the state back on track.

State Rep. Gina Hinojosa is a native Texan, born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Gina began her career as an advocate for families and workers as a civil rights and union lawyer. Gina never planned on running for office. But when her son’s elementary school was threatened for closure by state budget cuts, Gina rallied other parents, ran for Austin ISD School Board — and won. But neighborhood schools kept closing across the state because Republican leaders kept diverting Texas tax dollars away from schools, so Gina ran for a seat in the Texas House of Representatives — and won. A fierce champion of working Texans, Gina has been fighting back against billionaires and corporate interests in the legislature for a decade, pushing the state to invest in neighborhood schools, expand health care access, and lower costs for Texans. Now, Gina is taking that same fight to run for Texas governor because Texans deserve a leader who puts people first, defends our values, and leads with courage.
