EMILYs List Endorses Mayor Paige Cognetti for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Mayor Paige Cognetti for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement to celebrate her endorsement:
“While costs continue to rise and Rep. Bresnahan only worries about his own profits, Mayor Paige Cognetti is ready to step in and fight for Pennsylvania’s families. As mayor, she has worked to root out corruption, cut red tape, and make her community safer. We need a real fighter like Mayor Cognetti to flip this seat. EMILYs List is proud to endorse her in this election and work together to take back the U.S. House.”
Paige Cognetti has served as mayor of Scranton since 2020, where she has guided the city through financial recovery and community renewal. In her first run for mayor, she took down a corrupt political machine that was profiting off the city government. Unafraid of any fight, she has worked to clean up city hall and ensure the government truly serves its people.
