EMILYs List Puts Republicans in Texas’s U.S. Congressional Delegation On Notice

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List is putting all Republicans in Texas’s U.S. congressional delegation “On Notice.” If Donald Trump and Texas Republicans go through with their plan to gerrymander Texas’s congressional map, EMILYs List will actively recruit candidates to challenge Republicans in potentially competitive districts across the state.

“Republicans’ support for reckless and cruel policies that take away health care and raise costs on Americans has put their House majority on the line, so now they’re trying to pick their voters instead of letting voters pick their representatives. EMILYs List is putting Republicans in Texas’s U.S. congressional delegation on notice – we will recruit, train, and fundraise to defeat you. Texas Democratic women are coming for your seats,” said EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler.

Over 40 years, EMILYs List has raised nearly $950 million to help Democratic women win competitive elections by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running one of the most impactful independent expenditure operations for Democrats, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, 192 women to the House, 29 to the Senate, 20 governors, and over 1,600 women to state and local office.
