EMILY's List Launches New Online Training Resource to Help Pro-Choice Democratic Women Run and Win
The Training Center offers the basics on how to run a campaign and a NEW tool to look up open seats to run for office
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, announced a new online training resource to help women run for office. The EMILY's List Training Center offers pro-choice Democratic women and their teams online materials and resources to help them win campaigns.
Since the 2016 election, more than 34,000 women have reached out to EMILYs List interested in running for office. To respond to this unprecedented interest, EMILYs List has tripled the size of its state and local staff and launched “Run To Win,” a campaign to recruit and provide women with the information they need to successfully run for office. Today, EMILYs List is taking another step in this effort by launching an innovative new online platform.
Bringing together the expertise and insights of over 30 years of winning campaigns, the Training Center offers the basics on political campaigns in one place and was designed with women candidates in mind. Pro-choice Democratic women candidates will now be able to learn everything from “Building a Campaign Plan” to “Delivering Your Message” with a click of a button.
The website also features a one-of-a-kind tool which allows prospective candidates to look up open seats they can run for in their communities by using their address.
“We are excited to add this website to our toolbox and to help prepare more women to run up and down the ballot in 2018 and beyond,” said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List. “Paired with our in-person and online trainings, the Training Center will show women the ropes on how to build winning campaigns and allow us to expand our reach.”
In 2017 EMILYs List conducted 25 in-person trainings reaching more than 2,400 women. So far in 2018, over 1,000 people have participated in their online webinars alone.
