SOUND THE ALARM: RNC Edition Part 2

After decades spent successfully working to overturn Roe v. Wade and end abortion access, Republicans are hiding their anti-choice agenda at this year’s convention. Make no mistake: when extremist Republicans like Trump and Vance say “abortion should be decided by the states,” this is what they are supporting: 

🚨Texas Republican lawmakers implemented a near-total abortion ban with bounty-style incentives that allows civilians to enforce the law and punishes doctors with jail time. (The New York Times)

🚨Idaho Republican lawmakers restricted out-of-state travel for abortions, punishable by prison. (NBC News) 

🚨South Carolina Republican lawmakers introduced a bill that charges the death penalty for people who get abortions in the state. (NBC News) 

🚨Arizona Republican lawmakers tried to enforce an 1864 Civil War-era ban that criminalized nearly all abortions. (Vox)

🚨Oklahoma Republicans enacted a law increasing penalties for abortion providers that included large fines and up to 10 years in prison. (Austin American-Statesman)

🚨Iowa’s Supreme Court Republican majority ruled that there is no constitutional right to abortion. (NBC News) 

🚨Louisiana Republican lawmakers blocked FDA-approved safe and effective abortion pills by labeling them as “controlled dangerous substances,” and prohibited possession without a prescription as punishable by fines and jail time. (Washington Post)

🚨Missouri Republican lawmakers want to charge pregnant people with homicide for getting an abortion. (Associated Press)
