EMILYs List Congratulates Satya Rhodes-Conway on Advancing to the General Election in Madison, Wisconsin’s Mayoral Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Satya Rhodes-Conway on advancing to the general election to determine who will serve as the next mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. Satya Rhodes-Conway is the 58th mayor of Madison, Wisconsin and the city’s first openly LGBTQ+ mayor in history. She was first elected in 2019 and serves with Climate Mayors, the EPA’s Local Government Advisory Committee, Mayors for a Guaranteed Income, Mayors Against Gun Violence, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and the National League of Cities. Prior to elected office, Rhodes-Conway was the managing director of the Mayors Innovation Project and a policy professional with the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She also has extensive experience working to protect the environment and preserve endangered species, and previously taught undergraduate biology and ecology.
