EMILYs List Statement on Senators Continuing to Support Reproductive Rights
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Supreme Court commenced arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization today, a case that is a blatant attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade. With the unprecedented threat to abortion care, EMILYs List thanks its sitting senators for their consistent efforts to protect reproductive freedom. Laphonza Butler, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
“EMILYs List commends the senators who continue to defend reproductive rights in the most consequential time in this century. Republicans at all levels of government continue their assault on health care, inserting themselves in a conversation that should be between birthing people and their physicians. Today marks the beginning of the oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, but we know the work will never end as long as Republicans refuse to listen to the overwhelming majority of Americans who believe in Roe v. Wade and the right to choose. We are proud to support our Democratic pro-choice senators who value the voice of the people.”
