EMILYs List Releases Kansas Gubernatorial Poll 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A recent survey by Clarity Campaign Labs on behalf of EMILYs List shows that Gov. Laura Kelly is popular with voters in Kansas and starts the 2022 gubernatorial race with a lead — along with strong support from crucial independent voters — more than a year out from the general election. Laphonza Butler, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement: 

“Gov. Laura Kelly has proven to be a champion for Kansas’ women and families in the face of unprecedented economic and health challenges during her first term. And the numbers tell us that Kansans appreciate her leadership: A majority of Kansans across party lines approve of Gov. Kelly’s performance in office throughout her first term. EMILYs List is proud to stand with Gov. Kelly as she gears up for her reelection fight, and we are confident that she will be reelected next November.” 

Despite the state’s historic Republican lean, Gov. Kelly remains popular across party lines: 53% of respondents approve of the job she’s doing. 27% of self-identified Republicans approve of the job she’s doing, as do 69% of Independents and 94% of self-identified Democrats.
