EMILYs List Congratulates Carol Glanville on Her Victory in Michigan’s House of Representatives
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Carol Glanville on her victory in the special general election for Michigan’s 74th House District. Laphonza Butler, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
“EMILYs List is thrilled to congratulate Carol Glanville on flipping Michigan’s 74th House District seat. We know that she will fight tirelessly to improve education, create good-paying jobs, protect the environment, and defend reproductive rights in Michigan. This victory is crucial to EMILYs List’s efforts to flip anti-choice, Republican-majority legislatures and to advance reproductive freedom across the country.”
Carol Glanville was born and raised in West Michigan. She has extensive experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher, administrator, and education consultant. Currently, Glanville works at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University developing curriculum and training materials for foundations and grant makers. She also holds a seat on the Walker City Commission and serves on the advisory boards for Kent County Community Action and County Waste to Energy. She’s also a board member with West Michigan Trails and Greenways Coalition.
