EMILYs List Statement on Derek Chauvin Murder Trial Guilty Verdict

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Emily Cain, executive director of EMILY's List, the nation's largest resource for women in politics, released the following statement as a result of the guilty verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial.

“Although we are relieved that Derek Chauvin was found guilty of all charges in the violent and tragic death of George Floyd, the EMILYs List family and community acknowledge the deep trauma that this and other killings of unarmed Black people and people of color have caused in our nation and world. Throughout these trying times, we hold fast to our belief that we must do everything in our power to combat the systemic racism that continues to plague our country and we will continue the work of making the halls of power more representative of the people it serves.”
