EMILYs List Endorses Tishaura Jones for Mayor of St. Louis 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Tishaura O. Jones in the race for mayor of St. Louis. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is thrilled to endorse Tishaura O. Jones for mayor of St. Louis. Tishaura has a long history of representing the people of Missouri with integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to service. As a champion for families, reproductive rights, and education, Tishaura Jones is ready to fight for the needs of St. Louis residents. We are confident that with Tishaura as mayor, St. Louis will succeed in recovering economically from the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring that all residents have access to the health care they need now and for generations to come.” 

Tishaura Jones started her career as a public servant in 2002 when she was appointed as Democratic committeewoman of the 8th Ward in the City of St. Louis. She served two terms in the Missouri House of Representatives, and was selected as the first African American woman in Missouri history to hold the position of assistant minority floor leader. She also is the first African American woman to serve as treasurer of St. Louis. Since 2012, Treasurer Jones has helped the City of St. Louis earn and save over $30 million and counting. If elected, Treasurer Jones would be the first African American  woman mayor of St. Louis.
