Women Vote Announces $615,000 Television Program in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District Race
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Women Vote, the independent expenditure arm of EMILYs List, unveiled a $615,000 television program in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District race. The ad, which begins airing today, highlights Yvette Herrell’s egregious and disingenuous record of self-dealing in the state legislature.
“Yvette Herrell's business made hundreds of thousands from taxpayers while she hid her profits from voters as a state legislator. Now she's running for Congress and expects New Mexicans to trust her with the federal budget,” said Melissa Williams, vice president of independent expenditures at EMILYs List. “While Herrell focused on funneling money to an organization run by her family and getting rich from taxpayers with her business, Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small has led on supporting small businesses and expanding access to affordable health care. New Mexicans can’t afford to send Yvette Herrell to Congress, and it’s one of the many reasons why they’ll reelect Xochitl Torres Small, a champion for working families.”
