Women Vote Announces $400,000 Television Program in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District Race
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Women Vote, the independent expenditure arm of EMILYs List, unveiled a $400,000 three-week television program in the toss up race between Kate Schroder and Congressman Steve Chabot. The ad, which begins airing today, focuses on Congressman Chabot’s shameful record of abusing his position of power for personal profit.
“Congressman Steve Chabot, whose campaign is currently under investigation by the FBI for $123,000 worth of missing funds, has abused his position in Congress for personal gain while Ohio working families pay the tab,” said Melissa Williams, vice president of independent expenditures at EMILYs List. “While Congressman Chabot repeatedly voted to strip millions of hardworking Americans of their health insurance, he was helping his son-in-law get rich by funnelling nearly $200,000 to his web design company. Ohioans deserve better than an out-of-touch representative who is more interested in lining his pockets than serving the people who elected him.”
