EMILYs List Endorses Two More Women Leaders for the North Carolina House of Representatives
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed two more women leaders for the North Carolina House of Representatives. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
“EMILYs List is thrilled to expand our endorsements in North Carolina with Cindy Deporter and Linda Cooper-Suggs. With Cindy's service in Raleigh’s Department of Health and Human Services and Linda's experience as a former teacher, these women are the progressive champions North Carolinians need in Raleigh. Democrats only need to flip six seats to gain the majority in the state House, and we are confident that they, alongside 17 other endorsed state House candidates, can get the job done. At a time when women, children, and families are facing unprecedented attacks on their health care coverage, reproductive freedoms, and economic security, EMILYs List is committed to electing pro-choice champions like Cindy and Lisa to fight back against the Republican Party’s dangerous agenda.
EMILYs List has put Republicans from both chambers of the North Carolina General Assembly “On Notice” for their ongoing attempts to turn back the clock on women’s rights. We look forward to ensuring that these strong pro-choice Democratic women leaders are at the table to draw fair legislative maps and fight for working families in November.”
