EMILYs List Response to Trump’s Anticipated Speech at Anti-Choice Rally

WASHINGTON, D.C — Today, Donald Trump is expected to speak at the annual March for Life, a notorious anti-choice rally. In response, Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, released the following statement:

“The so-called March for Life spreads lies and disinformation about women's health care while pushing an agenda that would take away our rights. It's no surprise Donald Trump is the first President to address it in person — he has made clear that his goal is to overturn Roe v. Wade and end abortion as a safe and legal right. While the anti-choice movement spreads false claims of caring about women, we know that protecting women means trusting them to make their own decisions and defending their right to basic, and sometimes lifesaving, health care. This is yet another example of the critical need for pro-choice Democratic women in office to lead our country forward.”
