EMILY's List Endorses 21 More Women Leaders for the Georgia General Assembly and Statewide Offices
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed 21 more women leaders for the Georgia General Assembly and statewide offices. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
“For too long, the Georgia legislature has been serving special interests over the citizens of Georgia. Without a significantly higher number of progressive women’s voices at the decision-making table, citizens will continue to be left behind. That ends on November 6th with the leadership of these exciting pro-choice Democratic women running up and down the ballot who are ready to fight for change. EMILYs List is proud to endorse these incredible candidates who will usher in the change Georgia families are waiting for.”
EMILYs List endorsed the following slate of candidates:
Janice Laws (Insurance Commissioner)
Jen Jordan (SD-06)
Sally Harrell (SD-40)

These endorsements are in addition to five previously endorsed EMILYs List candidates – Angelika Kausche (HD-50), Lindy Miller (Public Service Commissioner), Aisha Yaqoob (HD-97), Betsy Holland (HD-54) and Park Cannon (HD-58) – who advanced to the general election.
This is far from the first time EMILY's List has been active in the Peach State. Just last year, EMILY's List-endorsed candidates Jen Jordan (SD-06), Deborah Gonzalez (HD-117), Bee Nguyen (HD-89), Nikema Williams (SD-39) and Keisha Lance Bottoms (Atlanta Mayor) won their elections.
EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $500 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates – making them one of the most successful political organizations ever. Our grassroots community of over five million members helps Democratic women wage competitive campaigns – and win. We recruit and train candidates, support strong campaigns, research the issues that impact women and families, and turn out women voters. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 116 women to the House, 23 to the Senate, 12 governors, and over 800 to state and local office. Forty percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Since the 2016 election, thousands of women and counting have reached out to us about running for office. To harness this energy, EMILYs List has launched Run to Win, an unprecedented effort to get more women to run at the local, state, and national levels.
