EMILYs List Endorses Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for Reelection

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for reelection. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement to celebrate her endorsement:

Mayor Karen Bass is the 43rd mayor of Los Angeles and the first woman and second African American to be elected. She has led the nation’s second largest city with unprecedented urgency that has delivered results for all Los Angeles residents. Since taking office, she has significantly decreased homelessness, accelerated the building of more than 30,000 units of affordable housing, helped businesses secure $18 million in funding assistance over the last two years, and created a safer community for Los Angeles residents with homicides on track to be the lowest on record since 1968. Mayor Bass is deeply committed to making change for the people of Los Angeles by breaking with the status quo to deliver for the people of Los Angeles, and now she is ready to continue her fight as mayor.
