FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed retired Brigadier General Leela Gray for Florida’s 13th Congressional District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“A retired Army Brigadier General, small business leader, and mom, Leela Gray has spent her life serving her country and her community. From combat deployments overseas to fighting for veterans and working families at home, she has led with the integrity and strength we need in Congress. Leela is running to end the partisan political games that have failed Pinellas County and bring common-sense leadership to lower costs and improve people’s lives. EMILYs List is proud to endorse Leela Gray to flip this seat.”

Leela Gray is a proven leader, a third-generation veteran, a lawyer, and a proud Floridian who has worked hard on nonpartisan, commonsense solutions to complicated challenges. Raised in a working-class family, Leela worked multiple jobs to put herself through college, where Army ROTC opened the door to a 30-year career in uniform that included commanding troops across the country, a peacekeeping mission, and two combat deployments. After active duty, she worked at the State Department as a strategic advisor to U.S Army Cyber Command. A longtime Tampa Bay resident, Leela also mentored entrepreneurs, advocated for veterans, and helped local businesses recognize the value veterans bring to the workforce. Now, she is running for Congress to find solutions to the table challenges people face in Pinellas County, Florida, such as rising prices for food, insurance premiums and other essentials that are squeezing working families.
