EMILYs List Statement on the Attempted Attack on Rep. Ilhan Omar During Her Town Hall in Minneapolis

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, an agitator attempted to attack Rep. Ilhan Omar as she held a town hall in Minneapolis. EMILYs List president Jessica Mackler released the following statement condemning the attempt and heightened political violence: 

“At a time of escalating political violence, the safety of women leaders is non-negotiable. We are relieved that Rep. Ilhan Omar is safe, and EMILYs List stands firmly with her against the bullies and agitators who use threats, intimidation, and hate to silence women in public life.”
