EMILYs List Statement on David Trone Filing for Primary Run in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, losing candidate David Trone filed for a primary run against incumbent congresswoman and previously endorsed EMILYs List candidate April McClain Delaney in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, after losing a Democratic primary in Maryland by double digits last year. EMILYs List Chief Campaigns Officer Tiernan Donohue released the following statement: 

“In 2024, Marylanders overwhelmingly rejected David Trone, despite him spending over $60 million of his own money to try and buy a U.S. Senate seat. April McClain Delaney is delivering for the people of Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, working to secure funding for local infrastructure and public safety, keeping children and families safe online, and protecting affordable health care. In 2026, Marylanders are going to once again reject his attempt to buy his way back into Congress.”
