EMILYs List Endorses Dr. Amy Acton for Ohio Governor

November 5, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Dr. Amy Acton for Ohio governor. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“Ohioans are looking to elect a tough leader like Amy Acton, who understands the struggle that so many of them are facing right now because she’s lived it herself. While Vivek Ramaswamy will always put corporations and billionaires like himself first, Amy will work to lower costs, make communities safer, and give power back to the people. We’re excited to endorse Amy and work with her to win this race.”

Dr. Amy Acton is a mother, doctor, and fighter in her community.  Amy understands the struggle that so many Ohioans are facing right now because she’s lived it herself. From working as a waitress to delivering newspapers, Amy worked her way out of poverty and put herself through college and medical school to become a doctor. She experienced firsthand what so many Ohio families face today—working harder than ever and still feeling like they’re falling behind. In 2019, Gov. DeWine asked Amy to serve in his administration as the director of the Ohio Department of Public Health. Amy put partisanship aside to serve the people of Ohio. When the pandemic hit, her steady leadership and voice for common sense not only saved countless lives but also helped Ohio’s economy and schools open earlier than other states. Now, Amy’s running for governor because she refuses to look away from Ohioans who are struggling while politicians in Columbus cater to billionaires and corporations.
