SOUND THE ALARM: Amanda Batten is Lying About Her Stance on Abortion

In case you missed it, Virginia Republican state Del. Amanda Batten is lying to voters about her stance on abortion.

In a new Virginia Mercury article, Batten tries to claim she supports exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. But Virginia voters deserve to know the truth: Amanda Batten has spent her career working to take away reproductive rights and banning abortion — backing Gov. Youngkin’s abortion bansupporting overturning Roe v. Wadepledging to outlaw abortion completely with no exceptions, and voting against reproductive freedom at every turn.

“Amanda Batten can’t rewrite her record,” said Yari Aquino, senior director of campaign communications at EMILYs List. “She’s marched with anti-abortion extremists, pledged to outlaw abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest, and repeatedly voted to restrict access to contraception and reproductive care. Virginians deserve leaders who tell the truth — leaders like Jessica Anderson, who will always stand up for women’s freedom to make their own decisions and fight for what’s best for their families.”

Batten was also recently endorsed by The National Right to Life Committee, a group that rejects exceptions for rape or incest and backs policies that endanger women’s health, delay emergency care, and strip away personal freedom.
