About Run to Win
Run to Win is a national recruitment and training campaign focused on helping pro-choice Democratic women around the country run for office—and win.
We know a thing or two about winning. Since our founding in 1985, EMILY’s List has trained nearly 10,000 women to run and helped elect 150 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and nearly 1,100 women to state and local office.
Nearly forty percent of the candidates EMILY’s List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color, and more young women than ever are stepping up to run. Diverse representation at every level of government means we’ll all have a voice.
That’s where you come in. We’re asking you to step up and run for office, especially at the state and local level. If you aren’t ready to run yet, you can help a woman run. And men, you can help by encouraging and supporting the women in your life to run.
You don’t have to have years of political experience, a Ph.D., or a law degree to run for office. You know when policies work for you and your family and when they don’t. Your experience is what your community needs in office and there is no better time than now to get started.
EMILY’s List has dedicated increased resources across the country to train and recruit new candidates. We’ll give you the tools to be a strong and strategic candidate through in-person and online candidate trainings, an online training platform, a Facebook community for women who want to run, and more.
If you’re a pro-choice Democratic woman interested in running for office, we’re here to help. We hope you’ll join us.Run for Office
Wondering what to run for? Think local
Many of the senators and House members you know today got their start in state and local office. We can help you think through where to start, whether it’s a school board, city council, the mayor’s office, or your state legislature.
