Women Vote and House Majority PAC Announce Joint $560,000 Television Program in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District Race
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Women Vote, the independent expenditure arm of EMILYs List, and House Majority PAC unveiled a joint $560,000 three-week television program in the toss up race between Dr. Hiral Tipirneni and ethically-challenged Congressman David Schweikert. The program follows a poll released by the House Majority PAC showing Hiral within two points of Congressman Schweikert in a district Trump won by 10 points in 2016.
“It has never been clearer why we need to elect more dedicated public servants like Dr. Hiral Tipirneni,” said Melissa Williams, vice president of independent expenditures at EMILYs List. “While Hiral has spent her career uniting researchers, clinicians, and patients in the fight to end cancer, Congressman Schweikert has been unanimously condemned by the U.S. House and charged with 11 ethics violations. Arizonans know they deserve better than a representative who stonewalled a two-year investigation and violated campaign finance laws, and they’ll deliver that message loud and clear at the ballot box this November.”
“After four years of Donald Trump and Dave Schweikert using their public offices to enrich themselves, voters are looking for a change and that’s really bad news for someone as ethically-challenged as David Schweikert,” said Abby Curran Horrell, executive director of House Majority PAC. “Voters want to elect someone like Dr. Hiral Tipirneni who will restore decency to public office, which is an attribute that Dave Schweikert is sorely lacking.”
