EMILYs List to Train Thousands of Women to Run in Key States in 2017
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List launched their 2017 Run to Win schedule and announced that they will be training women to run for office beginning in 21 cities and states across the country. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
“More than 12,000 women from all 50 states have come to us looking for help running for office since Election Day, and our trainings are going to give these women the skills they need not only to run for office – but to win. We’re training women in red states and blue states, from Nevada to Texas to North Carolina, and using our three decades of experience winning successful campaigns to change the face of electoral politics.”
“EMILYs List will train up and down the ballot from local to state and federal office. Among the women that we train, I have no doubt that there will be future members of Congress, senators, and even presidents. Democratic women are leading the fight against Donald Trump and his Republican allies, and these trainings will help ensure that we see a wave of progressive women elected to office in 2017, 2018, and in elections to come.”
