WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Xochitl Torres Small on tonight’s primary election results in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“Xochitl Torres Small is a powerful advocate for her community and after tonight, New Mexico voters have a clear choice this November. As the daughter of a teacher and a social worker, Xochitl understands the importance of accessible health care and education. In Congress, Xochitl will be the champion New Mexican families deserve. She has what it takes to flip this vulnerable seat being vacated by Republican Congressman Steve Pearce, and EMILYs List is thrilled to stand with her as she advances to the general election.”
