EMILYs List Statement on U.S. House GOP Allowing Trump to Unilaterally Raise Costs for American Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. House Republicans voted to give up their power to stop skyrocketing costs of everyday living caused by Donald Trump’s on-again-off-again global tariffs. This move blocks bipartisan efforts to address the worsening economic crisis. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

 “House Republicans care more about sucking up to Donald Trump than American families’ bottom lines, going as far as voting against preserving their own power to stand up to him in the future. 

“There’s no way around it: Republicans in Congress simply don’t care about the American people. And we’ll be replacing them with women who do.”
