EMILYs List Statement on House Republicans Passing Anti-Science, Anti-Abortion Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Republicans passed H.R. 21, legislation that spreads disinformation and lies about reproductive freedom. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released a statement in response:
“Get politicians out of our doctors’ offices.
“Every year, Republicans use anti-abortion legislation filled with lies and misinformation as a scare tactic and in doing so, threaten essential medical care and personal freedoms for millions of Americans. Republicans don’t care about science or medicine; they don’t care about you. They want to ban abortion completely. And they’ll use every tool in their toolbox to do that.
“We know this is just the beginning of their efforts to fully roll back our rights. That is why we are already hard at work recruiting the Democratic pro-choice women candidates who will take back the House in 2026. In the meantime, we will continue to lift up the pro-abortion rights champions in Congress highlighting this MAGA extremism; they are integral to this moment.”
