EMILYs List Puts John Duarte “On Notice”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, announced that it was placing Rep. John Duarte (CA-13) “On Notice.” Duarte joins 22 other extremist anti-choice House Republicans as some of EMILYs List’s top targets to defeat in the 2024 election cycle. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement:

“Rep. John Duarte is supposed to represent the needs of his constituents, but in the last election, he happily accepted an endorsement from a right-wing, anti-choice extremist group that supports banning abortion with no exceptions, even though the majority of Californians support the right to an abortion. Out-of-touch Duarte also made one of his first acts in office voting for anti-abortion legislation. It is critical that we defeat Duarte in the upcoming cycle and ensure that a true pro-choice champion is elected in his place.”
