EMILYs List on Manka Dhingra’s Victory in Washington State Senate District 45

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, released the following statement on Manka Dhingra's victory in Washington State’s 45th Senate District. EMILYs List endorsed Manka earlier this year and the victory ensures Democratic control of the Washington State Senate.

“EMILYs List is incredibly proud to congratulate Manka Dhingra on her win tonight,” said EMILYs List President Stephanie Schriock. “She has an exemplary record as a county prosecutor, fighting tirelessly to reduce domestic violence and advocate for stronger mental health programs. An immigrant herself, Manka will stand up for the rights of all Washingtonians. Her leadership in Olympia will help prevent the rollback of women’s reproductive rights and protect working families’ access to affordable health care. Tonight, we celebrate Manka’s success, a crucial victory handing Democrats control of the state Senate.”
